Rotation #721-722
South Carolina +3 over Florida (3u)
These teams are very familiar with each other both playing in the SEC and having played each other twice already this season. They split those matchups with the home team winning in both cases but I love the Gamecocks chances here in the rubber match. With both teams being so familiar with each other, neither team is going to look to push the pace and both squads know the others strengths and weaknesses. That along with the fact that these are the two best defenses left in the tournament makes me love taking the points in what should be a game that comes down to the wire. The big edge comes with the emotional factor of South Carolina being confident coming off a dominating blowout win while Florida is coming in off that emotionally draining overtime game where they won on the last shot after almost blowing a huge first half lead. There is a physical edge as well as South Carolina played the first game in New York while Florida had to follow that with their grueling OT game that wasn’t over until after midnight. That’s a quick turnaround for the Gators who now need to face the most physical team they will face yet. Throw in that South Carolina has the coaching edge with Frank Martin and the best player on the court in Sindarius Thornwell, I like them to keep their Cinderella run going for at least one more game as they advance to the Final 4. Take South Carolina.
North Carolina vs. Kentucky
At the start of the tournament we took UNC to win the South Region future so we have them on the moneyline in this game at +110 odds. I fully expect UNC to win this game by 6+ points, so if I didn’t have that future I would take UNC -2 for 3 units, but since we have that future, just letting that ride. For those of you who joined late and don’t have that future, the safest play (98% confident) would be to take UNC moneyline but I also do like the -2 as well. You can confidently take either for 3 units, both win cash the ticket.
