Cavs -5 over Celtics (2u)
I said in the game 1 writeup I’d need close to double digits before I could even consider taking Boston in this series, Cleveland is just flat out the much better team. Boston doesn’t have the size and they can’t rebound (actually were only outrebounded by 4 and still lost by 13) and have no answer for Love or Lebron. The scary thing is Kyrie didn’t even play that well it was still a total beat down. I just don’t see the Celtics being able to win a game in this series unless they shoot 60% from the field and 40% from 3. I do think this game will be high scoring again and Boston should be a little more competitive, but Cleveland is unstoppable right now and you’d have to be a fool to be against them on a spread this short. Take the Cavs.

Cavs -3.5 over Celtics
I love the way Boston has been playing, but they had trouble in both series so far with rebounding the basketball and that is going to be a big problem in this one against the Cavs who are going to have the big rebounding edge. This is really bad matchup for the Celtics because they don’t have anyone who can cover Lebron and Isiah Thomas is going to be a massive liability on defense all series. The Celtics have to be worn out from that back and forth seven game series while the Cavs are fully rested. The Celtics only hope is so have their bigs hit a lot of threes and draw Thompson out to open up the lane but the Cavs know this. Ultimately, I trust LeBron to have the team ready to go. They may have a little rust to start but over four quarters they are the superior team. The Cavs know the Warriors have yet to lose in the playoffs and will want to keep that mental edge with them. Cleveland just has way too many scoring options against this Celtics team who can struggle to score at times. I really don’t see this series going any more than 5 and don’t see the Cavs coming out and laying an egg game tonight so I like them to win and cover this opening game. Boston will have to be getting over 8 points before I can even think about taking them. It will take a perfect game for the Celtics to cover tonight, I look for a double digit win for the Cavs tonight. Take the Cavs.

Spurs +13.5 over Warriors
On paper you would assume the Warriors are going to blow the Spurs out without Kawhi but let’s not forget they absolutely dominated game one until he got hurt. That injury shifted all of the momentum and it’s extremely hard to make adjustments mid-game when a star player goes out. The Spurs are going to game plan for this game adjusting for Leonard being out and the Spurs still have the pieces to keep this game close. The Spurs have the big edge down low and they showed this scoring 56 points in the paint in game 1. This is the NBA and crazy things happen. I loved the Spurs in game 6 against the Rockets but I never thought they would win that game by 40. The Spurs are like the Pats of the NBA and always play their best when their backs are against the wall and everyone is counting them out. Danny Green did a great job defensively on Klay and if Curry and Durant didn’t go into God Mode last game in the 4th Quarter they would have lost that game. Aldrige needs to play a cleaner game with less turnovers but in a game where the Spurs are going to be super pissed off, this is way too many points. I also think the Warriors may let their guard down a little bit after that big comeback win and knowing Leonard is out. We’ve seen the Spurs pull big upsets like this in the past without Leonard and they will be going all out with huge effort tonight as this series is off until Saturday after this game. With tensions are running high and with the Spurs depth and size advantage, I think the Warriors should win but definitely not by a 13 point margin. Take the Spurs.
