My thoughts for this game tonight are the same as the last game. These conference games have just been a joke and you really can’t handicap them. These 10+ point spreads have been a guessing game on how the final 2 minutes of the game will shake out. The past three games all came down to the last possession in garbage time blowouts to decide the winner against the spread. You need a 20+ point cushion going into the 4th quarter to be safe, and that’s just not a good bet in a conference final game.
Can’t give anything more than a 50/50 level confidence bet for this game, so no official play (sick of losing on these tossup spreads). For those of you who will bet anyway and want action here are my thoughts on tonight:
The Cavs are the better team and will win this game by as much as they want to. They dominated both the first two games in Boston and know they have to absolutely win this game tonight to end this series and get rest for the finals, so I really don’t see them slacking off. The Celtics have been a much better defensive team without Thomas in the lineup so I like the under somewhat too especially since the Celtics will be playing hard to avoid elimination at home and this will be the 5th game they have played in 10 days and fatigue will start to creep in. I like the Cavs to definitely win this game by at least 5-6 points, so it should only take a few extra buckets to cover the spread as well.
Game 5 Leans:
Cavs -9.5
Under 214.5
