Akron +5.5 over UT Arlington (2u)
Arlington is coming off a great win where they scored 105 point over BYU, but they lost their second leading scorer to a thumb injury in that game which is going to be an issue in this one tonight. Akron has a lot of experience in postseason games so they won’t be intimidated on the road here and the MAC has been a solid conference this year so they have faced good competition all season. They can really light it up from three and five points is too much in a game like this that they can easily win outright. I also look for Arlington to have a bit of a letdown after such a strong road victory and for Akron to hang around in this one and possibly pull the outright win. Take Akron.

Utah Valley +4.5 over Rice (1u)
Always a bit risky to play these CIT and CBI games so going to keep the units low on these, but Utah Valley is in a great spot here. Rice has been a very strong offensive team this year but play zero defense. On the other hand, Utah Valley has a stifling defense and have allowed an average of just 52 points per game in their last four games and their offense is good enough to do damage against this terrible Rice defense. I love playing teams that are riding momentum at this point in the season and the Wolverines are hot right now after winning five of their last six. I like them to win this game outright, but even if they don’t this should be a close game that comes down to the wire. Take Utah Valley.

Illinois Chicago +6 over George Washington (1u)
There is no doubt George Washington is the better team in this one but they are in just a horrible spot. They won the NIT last year and had a disappointing year this year and are now stuck playing in the lowly CBI tournament. Meanwhile, Illinois Chicago just beat a very good Wisconsin Green Bay team and beat Stony Brook in the opener. Now they are playing in front on their home crowd and have a chance to upset a much better program, so I love for the Flames to be plenty motivated in this one tonight. They may not win this game outright, but at home in front of the home town crowd, six points is just too much to pass on. Take UIC.

Campbell +1 over UT Martin (3u)
Every now and again you can find a hidden gem in the CBI or CIT and that is the case here tonight. The fact that Campbell isn’t heavily favored in this game is a complete joke. Believe it or not the third leading scorer in the nation plays for the Campbell Fighting Camels and his name is Chris Clemons. Clemons has been the key to Campbell’s late season success and will be the X-Factor here tonight. In the Campbell’s last five games, Clemons is averaging 32.5 points per game, including a huge 51-point night against UNC-Asheville. He will be the best player on the floor tonight and has the potential to control this game by himself. Also Campbell will be playing in front of their home crowd which is a huge plus when it comes to tournament play and the crowds come out in droves to watch Clemons play. Two of UT Martin’s leading scorers are injured and didn’t play in their last game and are questionable for tonight. Not sure if they are playing or not (can’t find it for this small tourney) but this should be an easy win and cover for Campbell regardless but especially if UT-Martin is playing shorthanded. Take Campbell.
